Safeguarding

Talking PANTS teaches children important messages, like their body belongs to them and they should tell an adult if they're upset or worried.

  • Privates are private
  • Always remember your body belongs to you
  • No means no
  • Talk about secrets that upset you
  • Speak up, someone can help

Speak out Stay safe is an online safeguarding programme for children aged 5- to 11-years-old.

The programme helps our children to understand:

  • abuse in all its forms and how to recognise signs of abuse
  • that abuse is never a child’s fault and that they have the right to be safe
  • where to get help and the sources of help available to them, including Childline.

Please see the information below which has been taken from the NSPCC website for information on how and why it is important to talk to your children.

We are asking parents to be vigilant about their child accessing the free online chat website Omegle.

Domestic Abuse is any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality. The abuse can encompass, but is not limited to: psychological; physical; sexual; financial; and emotional.

All children can witness and be adversely affected by domestic abuse in the context of their home life where domestic abuse occurs between family members. Exposure to domestic abuse and/or violence can have a serious, long lasting emotional and psychological impact on children.

Operation Encompass

We are an Operation Encompass School.

This is an initiative developed with West Midlands to ensure that school will be informed of any domestic abuse incident attended by the Police the day after the incident has occurred where a child from our school has been exposed to domestic abuse.

This will enable the school to sensitively and appropriately support the child and family to ensure they feel safe and secure after an incident of domestic abuse.

If you wish to find out further information about Operation Encompass, please speak with Mrs Harris.
